BMWMCC Breakfast Ride to Secluse Eatery, Sunday 7th June

Please join us for an all-tar breakfast ride to Secluse Eatery at Le Bac Estate, Malmesbury Rd, Paarl.

Our ride leader is Simon 076 632 8252; breakfast will be for your own cost.

Meet at Engen Pattekloof: 08H00 for 08H30 departure. Ride briefing 08H20. Click here for Google Maps Pin

The ride will take us out on the scenic routes to Malmesbury, then looping back down to Paarl. It will be approximately 120km and take around 90 minutes.

Members, friends and non-members welcome.
All makes of bike’s welcome.

Join us for a relaxed and scenic all-tar breakfast ride through some of the Western Cape’s beautiful mountain and wine-growing regions. This ride is open to everyone – BMWMCC members, non-members, and riders of all motorcycle brands are welcome to join us. Whether you’re new to group riding or a regular participant, we’d be delighted to have you along. This ride is beginner-friendly, pillion-friendly, and suitable for riders looking for an enjoyable morning outing with fellow motorcycle enthusiasts.

Route

Depart Engen Winelands One Stop 09h30, on N1 and left off N1 before the Huguenot Tunnel & Toll. Continue on the R101 over Du Toits Kloof Pass turning towards Rawsonville at the N1 weighbridge, left at the Rawsonville /Slanghoek intersection, onto Slanghoek Road.

Continue past Goudini to a short break at Slanghoek Mountain Resort’s parking area. Continue Northwards crossing the Berg River low water bridge, intersecting the R43 and left heading towards Wolseley and Ceres, past the Wolseley turnoff and continuing to a left off the R43 to Cafe on the hill.

Return to Cape Town on own route or join with other riders, as one wishes.
Most direct route ‘home’ +/- 140 km from the venue to Cape Town.

Recommended experience level: Intermediate and pillion friendly if you are comfortable with pillion on gravel.

Depart Engen Swartland One Stop 09h30, left on N7 and left off N7 towards Philadelphia, through Philadelphia (70km/h).
Left onto Old Malmesbury Road, continue through Kalbaskraal (60km/h) to and through Malmesbury, Voortrekker Road.
Right at SAPS/Old Jail onto Piketberg Street (+/- 40km tar), continue to dirt and stop at safe spot to adjust tyre pressures as required (mainly dirt from this point onwards +/- 140km). Continue to cross the R311.
Continue on dirt to Moorreesburg. Cross the N7 and through the town and exiting onto dirt road towards the Berg River, intersecting the R399 and heading towards Picketberg, turning left onto dirt road towards Goedverwacht (minor road with basic tech sections intersecting with the tar road on top of Bo-Piket and into Piketberg via Versvelds Pass. Proceed to Winkelshoek and brunch/lunch.

Total distance +/- 180 km and estimated ride time +/- 4h00 min
Return to Cape Town on own route or join with other riders as one wishes.
Most direct route ‘home’ +/- 130 km N7/N1 from the venue to Cape Town.

The Outpost Family Restaurant is based on the N7 Route to Namibia, at Winkelshoek Centre, Piketberg. The Restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating.
