Alright, crew — tanks full, spirits high!

We’ll roll out from our usual spot and hit the N1 for a short stretch before hooking a left onto Klipheuwel Road. From there, it’s smooth cruising through Malmesbury, then west toward the legendary town of Darling.

Once we’ve soaked up the open road and the smell of freedom, we’ll drop onto the West Coast Road — throttle steady, wind in our faces — and ride south until our final stop appears on the left, waiting with good vibes, great food, and even better company.

Right on the R27, you’ll find the unmistakable smell of wood smoke and freshly baked roosterkoek calling your name. At Route 27 Roosterkoek, we serve up real South African padkos — hearty, handmade, and straight off the coals!

Our roosterkoek are baked the traditional way over an open fire, golden and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Each one is packed with mouthwatering fillings — think cheese & jam, curry mince, chicken mayo, egg & cheese, or the all-time legend: boerewors & relish. Every bite is comfort, nostalgia, and flavour rolled into one.

And what’s a proper padkos stop without a good old-fashioned moerkoffie? We brew ours strong and full-bodied — the way South Africans have done for generations — and serve it in a tin “blikbeker,” just like in the good old days. Add a generous swirl of sweet condensed milk, and you’ve got the perfect partner for your roosterkoek — smooth, creamy, and utterly irresistible!

Whether you’re road-tripping down the coast, heading out on a Sunday cruise, or just craving a taste of home, Route 27 Roosterkoek is your must-stop spot for good vibes, warm coals, and proudly local flavour.

BMWMCC Monthly Meeting…. 25th November 2025

Join us for our final club meeting of the year — and this time, we’re adding a touch of Christmas cheer! Expect a festive atmosphere with twinkling decorations, tasty treats to nibble on, and plenty of good company to wrap up 2025 in true BMWMCC style.

BMWMCC Off-Road Training

TRAINING LEVELS: 1, 2 & PILLIONS

Join us for an action-packed day of BMW-standard off-road training, tailored for Level 1, Level 2, and pillion riders.
We recommend starting with Level 1 before moving up to Level 2 to ensure you’ve mastered the fundamentals. Riders with a new bike are encouraged to refresh Level 1 or 2 skills—every motorcycle has its own “get-to-know-you” period.

Please note: only one level can be completed per day.

What to Expect

We’ll cover:

• Rider theory: gear, safety, riding position, bike set-up, tyre pressures, and understanding BMW bike dynamics.

Level 1 Skills:

• Motorcycle setup & adjustments

• ABS deactivation

• Rider positioning for off-road

• Steering techniques

• Cone riding and balance work

• Picking up and leading your bike

• Slow-speed control and braking

Level 2 Skills:

• Advanced bike set-up and rider positioning

• Off-camber riding & steering

• Starting and stopping on an incline

• Uphill & downhill control

• Sharp turns and high-speed gravel braking

• Bike recovery

• If time and skill levels allow: sand riding, technical jeep track climbs, gymkhana, and trail adventures.

Our golden rule: You ride only what you’re comfortable with—this is about learning, building confidence, and having fun on your GS.

Not riding a BMW? No problem! Riders on Yamaha, KTM, Tenéré, and other adventure bikes are welcome.

We’re privileged to host most sessions at Zevenwacht Estate, Kuils River, exclusively for BMW MCC.

Dassiesfontein Off Road breakfast ride 14 December 2025

Please join Richard on your weekend off-road ride to Dassiesfontein Restaurant.

MEETING 

We will meet at the BP Reunion Drive N2 Somerset West https://maps.app.goo.gl/vyLgmBVL4pZhK6TL9 at 08:00 for a 08:30 departure.

Then we will ride up the N2 to Bot Riverand onto the Van Der Stel Pass and Hawson View Road to the R43. We will pass through some farm lands and onto the railway line towards Greyton making a big loop via Teslaarsdal to the N2 at Dassiesfontein where we will have lunch. The ride is about 200 Kilometers and will be suitable for beginners and pillion friendly.

All makes of bike’s welcome.

About Rooiberg Winery:
Rooiberg Winery was established on 14 April 1964 and here, at this leading South African wine cellar,
with its striking red land art, you’ll find an exciting expression of wine diversity and quality born from a
unique set of ecological features.
The story of Rooiberg Winery is that of a group of pioneering wine farms alongside three rivers
surrounding the Rooiberg Mountain, which overlooks the cellar and its source vineyards. These are
the Vink, Noree and Breede Rivers – geological features which give rise to extraordinary terroir and
originally led to the establishment of these farms at a dependable source of water.
Today a private company with 20 shareholder members who operate 15 farms and with exports to
several countries, Rooiberg has shown a remarkable growth spiral following its founding more than

The exuberant land art at the cellar complex, linked to the red symbolism of the cellar’s name, was
