We will Meet at 8:00 am at the BP garage on the N2. The BP on the left heading towards Sir Lowrys Pass so the Sir Lowrys Pass side of Somerset West

Our route

Head up Sir Lowry and into highlands road towards Kleinmont

Turn left towards Botrivier and over Van Der steel Pass onto Greyton…

We’ll carry on to Riviersonderend and have lunch at Ou Meul and then head home on the N2

Meet Richard at 0830 to depart at 0900 for a picturesque ride along Clarens Drive through the seaside towns of Rooi Els, Bettys Bay, Kleinmond towards Botrivier and then onto the N2 to Greyton.

The ride distance is 130 kms and the estimated ride time is 1h 50m and the all-day breakfasts are between R 65-00, for a basic, and R 165-00 for the elaborate.

Elgin Railway Market Breakfast Ride

We will have a relaxed ride along Clarence Drive, and then do a loop of Theewaterklof ‘s Dam via Villiersdorp and on to Elgin Railway Market, where 2 large tables will be reserved for us upstairs

Elgin Railway Market is within an old apple warehouse converted into a bustling Steampunk, Art Deco market boasting local food and craft vendors, live music and is the gateway to the beautiful Elgin Valley.

The original building was built in the 1940’s by Italian POW’s. The concrete tapered columns and curved box gutters bear testimony to the skill of those bygone craftsmen. It has been extensively renovated into a showpiece well worth a visit.
