OFF-ROAD TRAINING DAY: LEVELS 1, 2 & PILLIONS
The Level 1, 2 and pillion Off Road training is as per BMW standards. We prefer and recommend riders to do Level 1 first and then move to Level 2. This way we know they have learned the basics. We recommend riders with a new bike to do a refresher of Lev 1 or 2 depending on their riding abilities as each bike have its own bonding space and dynamics.
Only 1 level can be completed on a day.
We cover:
– theory about rider gear, safety, rider position, bike set-up, dynamics of the BMW bike, tyre pressures, etc
– Level 1: Explaining and adjusting the motorcycle, ABS de-activation, rider position, Off Road steering, cone riding, balancing, picking up the bike, leading the bike, slow riding, braking
– Level 2: Bike set-up, tyre pressures, rider position, cone riding, body position, off-camber riding and steering, stopping and pulling away against an incline, uphill & down hill riding, sharp turns, high speed braking on gravel, bike recovery and if the group’s progress is quick enough and all seems competent: sand riding, technical ride up a jeep track, gymkhana, sand and trail riding, etc.
Costs: (unless stated otherwise e.g. day rides) – Lev 1 & 2 each: R550.00 per rider (R650.00 non-club members) Only 1 level on a day – Pillion training: R800.00 per couple (R900.00 non-club members)

Bookings closing on 13th May 2022, the event is weather permitting, minimum of 8 attendees for Level 1 and 3 attendees for Level 2, COVID-19 social distance will be followed.

Remember our rules still apply: you only do what you feel comfortable with. Come and have fun on that GS and challenge yourself .

Training venue:
We are fortunate to use the facilities at Anura Vineyards, Klapmuts, for most of our training days. Training venues will differ depending on the event.

Hi Anna-Marie
Please could you advise what the cost of the level 1 course is and if the level 1 is pillion related or mainly aimed at the rider (I mainly ride two up these days so if its relevant would want to get the most out of the course).
