August Monthly Meeting Minutes: – 27 August 2024
1. Welcome: Froggy
2. Topic: Johann Groenwald – Tracks4Africa
Shared their product overview. They have bought over the “Slingsby” maps. There is access to
road, off-road and hiking maps. There is the Travel Atlas – Southern Africa and several guide books
available for specific countries. The latest project is the KAZA map which covers the Kavango Zambian
Trans Frontier. Tracks4Africa has developed an app for digital maps. Once you have plotted your route
and downloaded it on your devise, no internet is required. Regular updates will take place
automatically at no extra costs. Depending on your map selection the annual subscription varies between R600 and R1000 per year. Please check the website. There is a 15% discount for all BMW club members.

1. Gravel ride: Saturday 03/08 – Richard (details to follow) 13 bikes of which 3 non-members. Route was changed slightly due to poor roads.
2. Zevenwacht Off – Road training day: Sunday 04/08 – cancelled
3. Elgin Market Breakfast ride: Sunday 04/08 – Froggy – cancelled
4. WOMEN’S DAY 2024 WITH A TWIST Jacobs Bay: Friday 9/08 – Ride-Out on Women’s day – Jani. Carel gave feedback. 5 bikes of which 4 women on the bikes. Had to re – route due to high water level at Kalbaskraal. The breakfast was excellent. 28 people for breakfast.
5. New Moto – Marshal training day: Saturday 10/08 – Donavan.
6. Tribe Breakfast Ride: Sunday 18/08 – Rouen. Jonathen gave feedback. Nice ride through Wellington, Malmesbury, N7, Melkbos, Coast road to Cape Town. Breakfast at Donfords CT at Rev It.

2. Little Stream Breakfast ride: Sunday 01/09 – Simon. Meeting at Donfords Cape Town for coffee and then a ride around the peninsula and then farmhouse breakfast @ R135. Coffee free.
3. Arniston overnight ride: Saturday 07/09 – Sunday 08/09 – Ian. Still 3 ocean view rooms available.
4. Adventure motorcycle training: Saturday 08/09. Carel. At Zevenwacht level 1 and 2. At present 6 bookings
5. Four Cousins breakfast ride: Sunday 15/09 – Geoff
6. The Barn at Old Macdaddy breakfast ride: Sunday 29/09 – David. There is s 2km gravel road to the venue but it is easily manageable.
7. Kliplapa: 15 – 17 November – save the date – Jani. Carel said that non – members may also join. You may attend both nights or just one night.
8. FPOS Training: Saturday 30/11 – save the date. Wouter de Vos highly recommends this course.

1. The 2nd hand table at the meeting every month is available if you wish to sell or exchange any items
